In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in engineering and design of the HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities. The HVAC Team is engaged in design and construction activities, utilizing project delivery methods such as Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build. You will work on a variety of facility types including Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures, and Energy Storage buildings. Your focus will be on systems related to HVAC and plumbing, covering areas such as Power Generation Halls, Administrative spaces, Warehouses, Maintenance areas, Workshops, Laboratories, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Centers, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generators, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage. The role also involves conducting Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies, performing energy audits and efficiency engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations. You will be responsible for facility reviews for code compliance and applying sustainable strategies in design, including LEED certification processes. The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for Black & Veatch's three market sectors: Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial.
