About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in engineering and design of the HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities. The HVAC Team is engaged in design and construction activities, utilizing project delivery methods such as Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build. You will work on a variety of facility types including Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures, and Energy Storage buildings. Your focus will be on systems related to HVAC and plumbing, covering areas such as Power Generation Halls, Administrative spaces, Warehouses, Maintenance areas, Workshops, Laboratories, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Centers, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generators, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage. The role also involves conducting Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies, performing energy audits and efficiency engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations. You will be responsible for facility reviews for code compliance and applying sustainable strategies in design, including LEED certification processes. The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions across three market sectors: Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities.
  • Engage in design and construction activities for power generation buildings, substations, and oil & gas structures.
  • Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies for data center applications.
  • Perform energy audits and efficiency engineering studies, including system performance reviews and energy compliance calculations.
  • Review facilities for code compliance and apply sustainable design strategies, including LEED certification processes.
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Buildings Design Group to provide HVAC and plumbing solutions across multiple market sectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
  • Basic knowledge of NFPA standards, HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and HVAC equipment sizing.
  • Experience with technical submittal reviewing and bid reviewing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
  • LEED AP certification with experience in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards.
  • Experience with 6Sigma software for CFD applications.
