About the position

The Buildings & Systems Engineering Supervisor (BaSE HMI) at UPS is responsible for developing, integrating, supporting, auditing, and repairing the network of Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems. This role involves overseeing project and engineering activities related to HMI solutions, ensuring compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards, and working closely with internal customers to enhance HMI systems across the automated network.

Responsibilities

  • Develop projects from concept to completion to meet operational/district requirements.
  • Integrate HMI applications into UPS's diverse automated network.
  • Develop HMI applications to meet UPS's safety, cybersecurity, and business needs.
  • Complete audits and resolve deficiencies in HMI applications.
  • Conduct field audits and investigations and prepare reports outlining issues.
  • Work cross-functionally and with project managers to ensure work meets business needs, applicable codes, and quality standards.
  • Inspect facilities, systems, and projects to ensure safety, environmental, and contract compliance.
  • Research available information and gather data to analyze system issues and provide solutions.
  • Document and keep management teams informed of all support related issues.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related, or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience.
  • Must have a flexible travel schedule (weekends included).
  • Experience in the Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI systems (InduSoft, WonderWare, Ignition, RSView, Proficy, etc.).
  • Experience with Database management (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Historian systems (Wonderware, ThingWorx, etc.).
  • Experience with corporate IT/Securities policies.
  • Experience with Systems Integration of Material Handling Systems (CCD cameras, laser scanners, programmable logic controllers, embedded control devices, and other peripherals).
  • Experience with Automated Material Handling Systems.
