About the position

The BUIT Project Manager IT at DHL Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in managing IT project activities to ensure they meet or exceed the expectations of all stakeholders, including customers. This position requires a deep understanding of DHL's IT project management processes and frameworks, which are essential for overseeing critical project components such as integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement throughout all phases of the systems life cycle. The projects typically involve the implementation of third-party Supply Chain application packages, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). In this role, the Project Manager is responsible for developing comprehensive project and resource plans, ensuring that all significant plans are optimized for schedule and personnel. This includes managing project scope by creating and maintaining essential documentation such as project charters, schedules, and issue lists. The Project Manager will also identify and secure commitments from necessary resources, guiding the project team to maintain cohesiveness and progress throughout the project lifecycle. Regular communication of commitment dates to project customers is crucial, as is the facilitation of project execution within the agreed-upon scope, time, and cost baselines. Additionally, the Project Manager will engage in risk management by identifying and quantifying project risks and developing contingency plans. They will assist in the financial management of project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. The role also includes training and mentoring members of the implementation analyst team, fostering their development in the project management cycle. Overall, this position is integral to the successful delivery of IT projects within DHL Supply Chain, contributing to the organization's mission of connecting people and improving lives.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply DHL Supply Chain's IT project management process and framework to IT project activities.
• Manage critical project components including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement.
• Develop project and resource plans, ensuring optimization of schedules and personnel.
• Communicate commitment dates to project customers and manage project scope documentation.
• Facilitate project execution within agreed-upon scope, time, and cost baselines, reporting variances as necessary.
• Identify and quantify project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Assist in the financial management of project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.
• Train and develop assigned members of the implementation analyst team, providing mentorship on project management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in an IT environment, preferably in a project leadership or application development role.
• Minimum 3 years in an IT project management role with direct accountability for project budgets and timelines.
• Experience in system design, development, or integration projects required.
• Proficiency in project management/planning software is required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Experience in the Logistics/Supply Chain industry is highly desirable.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as RedPrairie/JDA or Manhattan.
