About the position
The Bundle Shop Supervisor at Ohmstede Ltd., an EMCOR Company, is responsible for overseeing the assembly of shell and tube heat exchangers. This role involves managing workflow, supervising employees, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining production schedules. The supervisor plays a crucial role in training and evaluating staff while ensuring adherence to performance standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise employees and manage product assembly workflow.
- Communicate job expectations and provide training, coaching, and counseling to employees.
- Ensure adherence to performance standards and address performance issues.
- Manage documentation related to subordinates, including promotions, pay increases, and disciplinary actions.
- Plan and schedule personnel and materials to meet production requirements.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- Oversee the layout and cutting of baffles and structural welding of bundles.
- Manage the assembly of bundle skeletons and installation of tubes.
- Direct hydrostatic testing and loading of completed units onto transportation platforms.
- Handle personnel issues and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide constructive feedback and perform formal evaluations of subordinates.
Requirements
- High school diploma with knowledge of metals and production/fabrication processes.
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing shell and tube exchangers or related industries.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel Code, TEMA, and/or API is a plus.
- Strong customer service and relationship skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
