About the position

The Bus Development Manager II for the Fluid Systems Division, Control Flight Control Division, and Stratoflex Division is a pivotal role based in Irvine, CA. This position is responsible for directing and generating aftermarket business opportunities across multiple programs that have high earnings and revenue accountability. The role involves managing complex products and sub-systems, working closely with business teams, other divisions, and current and potential customers to promote the company's technologies, products, and services. The aim is to meet customer needs while leveraging the division's capabilities into additional markets. The position requires a strategic focus on aftermarket services, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term sales forecasts, and achieving financial and customer service goals in coordination with the assigned operating division. As the primary strategic Product Line focal point for aftermarket services, the manager will initiate and collaborate with division sites and customer service teams to maximize long-term aftermarket revenues. This includes providing mentorship and guidance to the customer service Aftermarket Services Manager, addressing critical customer issues, and leading project teams to improve process results. The manager will also serve as the primary contact for aftermarket products and services, coordinating with technical teams to resolve field performance issues and ensuring customer satisfaction regarding cost, product quality, delivery, and performance. In addition to these responsibilities, the manager will develop and support proposals and contracts to attract customers, conduct competitive research, evaluate sales performance, and formulate goals for specific products. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and industry events is essential for success in this role. The manager will also establish goals and objectives to carry out programs across the division, recommending actions based on data analysis and comparative studies.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and generate aftermarket business opportunities for the Fluid Systems Division, Control Flight Control Division, and Stratoflex Division.
  • Achieve financial and customer service goals in coordination with the assigned operating division.
  • Act as the primary strategic Product Line focal point for aftermarket services covering a range of products and customers.
  • Initiate and work closely with division sites and customer service teams to maximize long-term aftermarket revenues.
  • Provide mentorship and execution guidance to the customer service Aftermarket Services Manager.
  • Address critical customer issues and lead project teams to improve process results.
  • Serve as the primary strategic customer contact for aftermarket products and services, including product repairs, spares, logistics, contract, and pricing negotiations.
  • Develop and support proposals and contracts designed to attract customers and provide acceptable returns to the company.
  • Conduct competitive research, evaluate sales performance, and formulate goals and milestones for specific products and systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten or more years of increasingly responsible experience in program management, including five or more years of high-level program management experience.
  • Established customer contacts with major revenue or scope of responsibility.
