About the position

The Business Development Manager at Habitera Farms is responsible for enhancing customer experiences and driving growth through innovative strategies in a sustainable agricultural setting. This role involves managing operations during peak seasons, overseeing team recruitment and training, and spearheading business development initiatives to expand the farm's offerings and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the U-Pick operations in Brentwood, CA, expected to attract over 100K customers in two months by recruiting, training, and managing a team of 30-40 seasonal employees.
  • Oversee 12+ farmers markets and bulk sales operations by recruiting, training, and managing a team of 10-12 seasonal employees.
  • Enhance customer experience and grow traffic and revenue, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the back office team to complete 5-6 key strategic projects during the off-season to improve customer experience.
  • Visit top U-Pick locations and other experiential venues for ideas to enhance customer experiences.
  • Oversee the development of additional U-Pick locations and spearhead the introduction of new varieties and super fruits.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in agriculture or related industries.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of getting things done.
  • Passionate and ambitious with a mindset focused on growth and learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
  • Digital and social media marketing skills and experience (preferred).
  • Background in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Environmental Sciences (preferred).
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred).
