About the position
We are seeking a highly motivated Bus Driver and Assistant Teacher to join Our Beginning LLC, a Reggio Emilia inspired children's school. This role involves safely transporting children to and from school while assisting the lead teacher in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to their safety and well-being, playing a critical role in ensuring the success of our students both in and out of the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school on a daily basis
- Ensure all students are fully accounted for on and off the bus always
- Assist the lead teacher in the classroom with daily activities and lesson plans
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while in your care
- Maintain accurate records of daily transportation and classroom activities
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administrators
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting
- Valid WA State driver's license
- Able to meet the Department of Children, Youth and Families requirements for school bus drivers
- Must have a safe driving record for the last five years
- At least 25 years of age for insurance purposes
- Required to clear motor vehicle abstract and other background screenings and fingerprints
Nice-to-haves
- Experience driving a school bus or other large vehicle
- Infant, Child and Adult CPR and First Aid certification
