About the position
The Bus Driver for Early Childhood Special Education/Transition Center is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities. This role is crucial in ensuring that children with special needs have reliable and safe transportation, contributing to their overall educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school and related activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus as needed.
- Maintain the bus in a clean and orderly condition.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred.
- Ability to work with children, especially those with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- First aid and CPR certification.
