About the position

The Bus Driver Lead position is a part-time role based in Jonesboro, GA, focused on the safe and efficient transportation of scholars to and from school. The primary responsibility of the Bus Driver Lead is to operate a school van, ensuring that all passengers are transported safely and on time. This role requires adherence to designated routes and schedules, as well as compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. The Bus Driver Lead will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bus interior, conducting regular cleaning and sanitizing to ensure a safe environment for the scholars. In addition to driving responsibilities, the Bus Driver Lead will provide excellent customer service by assisting scholars with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle. Effective communication with passengers, colleagues, and supervisors is essential to ensure a smooth operation. The position also involves conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to confirm that it is in proper working condition, thereby ensuring the safety of all passengers. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for driving. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a school van to transport scholars to and from school.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting scholars with boarding and disembarking.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, including regular cleaning and sanitizing.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience as a bus driver, shuttle driver, delivery driver, or similar role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings and afternoons, as needed.
