About the position

The Business Account Executive (BAE) at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is responsible for representing the company's products, GIVLAARI and OXLUMO, in the United States, focusing on the identification of patients and physicians, disease awareness, and market development. This role aims to significantly impact the lives of patients with Acute Hepatic Porphyrias (AHP) and Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1 (PH1) by achieving territory targets and collaborating with various stakeholders to manage regional business effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Drive patient identification through appropriate HCP driven strategies including market development and brand awareness.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage time, activities, and resources to optimize access to academic and community HCPs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with HCPs and office staff by maximizing their time through planning and insights.
  • Proactively build effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders and drive agreement/decisions from multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across all commercial departments to ensure access at site of care and logistics for medication administration.
  • Collaborate with key accounts and physicians to build individual account plans to drive patient identification and achieve sales goals.
  • Execute speaker programs, local sponsorships, displays, and exhibits across multiple account types.
  • Routinely report territory-level market dynamics and trends to the Regional Business Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in biotech, specialty pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
  • Experience and relationships in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Neurology, Hematology/Oncology, pediatric and adult Nephrology and/or Urology are preferred.
  • Understanding of Buy & Bill and experience with HUB patient services preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of site of care identification, development, and education.
  • Strong examples of applied entrepreneurial mindset, business analytics, and data analysis required.
  • Experience supporting biologic therapy administered by designated HCPs preferred.
  • Experience driving, leading, and delivering upon territory-level cross-functional business planning.
  • Familiarity with the relevant legal and regulatory environment in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Effective at managing complex individualized cases in a compliant manner.
  • Valid driver's license and residence in the assigned territory.
