About the position

The Business Account Executive is responsible for selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory. This role focuses on generating new customers for Internet, video, and voice services, as well as ancillary services such as custom hosting and data storage. The AE will develop and implement a Territory Plan to expand the customer base and achieve sales and revenue goals through effective prospecting and sales techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support efforts to enhance the customer experience.
  • Place orders through order management software and ensure accuracy of sales orders and contracts.
  • Understand Spectrum Business coax services, rates, and applicable taxes.
  • Demonstrate selling skills and product knowledge, practicing regularly with other Account Executives.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities using Salesforce.com.
  • Meet and exceed performance standards as defined by the department Standards of Performance (SOP).
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings as established by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge of communications technologies and services, particularly telephone and Internet fundamentals.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cycle model.
  • Business to business sales experience preferred.
  • Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets.
