About the position

The Business Account Executive is responsible for selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory. This role focuses on generating new customers for Internet, video, and voice services, while also selling bundled services. The AE will develop and implement a Territory Plan to expand the customer base and achieve sales and revenue goals through effective prospecting and lead management.

Responsibilities

  • Sell primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Generate sales leads through various prospecting tactics.
  • Develop and implement a Territory Plan to expand the customer base.
  • Place orders through order management software and ensure accuracy of sales orders and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities using Salesforce.com.
  • Meet and exceed performance standards as defined by the department Standards of Performance (SOP).
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings as established by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Knowledge of communications technologies and services, particularly telephone and Internet fundamentals.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of business-to-business sales experience preferred.
  • Outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cycle model preferred.
  • Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets preferred.
