About the position

The Business Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the overall business strategy for their region or market within Southland Energy. This role focuses on driving top-line growth, meeting sales and revenue goals, and enhancing the company's brand presence. The manager will oversee sales activities, manage customer relationships, and ensure the effective use of CRM systems while promoting team collaboration and expansion of existing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Creates actionable strategic business plan for the business segment that outlines sales focus, critical marketing support, and appropriate organizational structure.
  • Manages sales activities to ensure strong customer relationships are established and maintained.
  • Ensures proper CRM usage and provides reporting metrics as needed.
  • Manages business acquisition resources to achieve business objectives and promotes team selling.
  • Supports sales teams in direct selling key/assigned accounts and acts as a point of contact for clients.
  • Represents Southland Energy as a leader in the industry/market.
  • Targets key projects and accounts, developing and implementing sales strategies for success.
  • Assists the business acquisition team in determining margins and assessing future business potential.
  • Manages sales team's performance, providing coaching and training to develop skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or applicable field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the applicable business segment with a proven sales record.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to set clear performance expectations.
  • High level of business acumen and ability to support client solutions.
  • Ability to negotiate and sell relevant services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of third-party financing sales and contractual processes involving performance-based energy solutions.
  • Broad understanding of financial management principles and their impact on organizational actions.
