About the position

The Business Administrative Specialist at the NYC Employees Retirement System (NYCERS) is a high-level support role within the Membership and Service Division. This position involves assisting the Division Director and Deputy Directors with data analysis, communication management, SharePoint site management, meeting preparation, and tracking headcount data. The role is crucial for ensuring efficient operations and effective decision-making within the division, contributing to the overall mission of NYCERS to provide excellent retirement services to its members.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and recommendations to Division leadership.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing key findings to aid decision-making.
  • Manage inquiries and communications, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of escalated cases.
  • Organize and maintain the SharePoint site for internal processes and reference.
  • Monitor administrative aspects of projects and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
  • Compile meeting agendas, gather materials, and take minutes during meetings.
  • Support the Division leadership in collecting information for briefings and reports.
  • Track headcount, vacancies, and skill levels in coordination with HR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 12 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, or actuarial science and four years of relevant experience, including 18 months in a supervisory role.
  • Associate degree or 60 credits with 12 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, or actuarial science and six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in implementing retirement plan provisions involving mathematical, statistical, actuarial, or accounting computations.
