About the position

We're looking for a Business Analyst to join us on an initial six-month fixed term contract to provide analysis support for the implementation of various change initiatives, working within our fast-paced Change department. A Business Analyst is a fundamental part of our Business Change team at Nucleus. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of change to processes, people and systems, across regulatory, mandatory and growth portfolios. This role helps bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. Working alongside colleagues in Change, Technology and the wider Business teams, this role helps realise our strategic objectives by investigating business situations and evaluating options for improvement, ensuring they meet the needs of the business. You'll work to ensure that we deliver to quality, cost and delivery targets through bringing together cross-functional teams, working effectively to ensure success.

Responsibilities

  • Leading on initial triage of new change requests raised by the business, assessing the expected benefits and impacted technology at a high-level.
  • Supporting our Change Champions to articulate the rationale for each change and ensuring they are supported through the process.
  • Apply a range of analysis techniques to elicit business requirements and feed into discussions on approaches and solutions.
  • Facilitate and lead in requirements workshops to gather an understanding of the key deliverables, using effective questioning to achieve a comprehensive interpretation of the ask.
  • Produce analysis outputs such as Business Requirements documents, Requirements Traceability and Business Readiness assessments.
  • Analysis of 'as-is' and 'to-be' processes and creation of process maps to help visualise potential improvement opportunities.
  • 'Input to' and 'approval of' wider change artefacts such as feasibility studies, Impact Assessments and Solution Designs.
  • Supporting Project Managers in the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate consideration for our regulatory compliance obligations, including Consumer Duty.
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and self-development.
  • Complete all mandatory training within required timescales.
  • Be fully compliant with project governance, reporting and tracking.
  • Take responsibility in everything you do to deliver good outcomes for our customers.

Requirements

  • Confidence to use your own initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and remain agile with conflicting work demands.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors to implement new solutions.
  • A positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong analysis experience in both agile and waterfall environments, for both IT and non-IT related deliveries.
  • Knowledge of structured analysis methodologies, such as LEAN, Six Sigma, BPMN, Use Cases.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Good relationship building, communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including SharePoint.
