About the position

The Business Analyst/Consultant IV position is a senior-level role responsible for facilitating the development of business requirements and leading business process redefinition studies within the Office of Enterprise Initiatives (OEI). This position serves as a liaison between technical and business stakeholders, analyzing current business processes and identifying improvements to enhance operational efficiency and meet customer needs. The role involves collaboration with business leads and subject matter experts to develop solutions, create dashboards, and assist in user acceptance testing, ultimately impacting enterprise-wide initiatives and critical business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate team meetings to prioritize work requests in partnership with business leads.
  • Serve as the key integration point between business areas, operations teams, and IT.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of operational processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Work with stakeholders to analyze the business case for work efforts.
  • Lead the coordination of business requirements ensuring cross-functional impacts are identified.
  • Gather and validate business requirements and assist with functional design of solutions.
  • Partner with technical leads to provide input into functional aspects of solutions design.
  • Identify opportunities for process or system enhancements to mitigate operational risk.
  • Create or update documentation relating to workflow processes and procedures prior to deployment.
  • Develop end-user training materials and assist with user training coordination.
  • Map out data flows and processes within ETF and identify gaps or improvements.
  • Analyze existing and future data to understand patterns and trends using SQL.
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to design solutions based on requirements and analysis.
  • Develop, execute, and document user test plans and oversee end-user testing and acceptance.
  • Coordinate resolution of issues uncovered during end-user testing.
  • Research escalated business issues and lead the creation of integrated models/workflows to resolve problems.
  • Participate in vendor performance evaluation and provide feedback as needed.
  • Maintain and distribute metrics related to work requests/projects.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive experience in business process analysis and change management.
  • Advanced experience in communicating results accurately to a broad audience.
  • Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis and testing.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Working knowledge of project management methods and tools, including MS Visio.
  • Broad experience in influencing others and encouraging creative thinking.
  • Expert ability to obtain information and insight from reluctant sources.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise appropriate judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to represent business needs assertively and diplomatically.
