About the position
The Business Analyst Consultant role involves leading and coordinating business requirements gathering, validating these requirements, and assisting with the functional design of solutions. The consultant will also be responsible for developing and executing test plans, overseeing end-user testing, and providing recommendations for solutions that align with business needs and system capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead, facilitate, and coordinate business requirements gathering.
- Validate the requirements and assist with the functional design of solutions.
- Develop, execute, and document test plans.
- Organize and oversee end-user testing and acceptance.
- Track defects and coordinate resolutions.
- Research, perform analysis, and provide recommendations for solutions that meet business needs and fit within the system/software capabilities.
- Write SQL queries and create source to target mapping documents.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in business requirements gathering and functional design.
- At least 5 years of experience in developing, executing, and documenting test plans.
- At least 5 years of experience in organizing and overseeing end-user testing and acceptance.
- At least 5 years of experience in writing SQL queries and creating source to target mapping documents.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience doing business analysis on large and complex IT projects.
- Experience in Government, Insurance Industry or Pension Plans.
