About the position

The Business Analyst / Data Engineer role is focused on designing solutions that enable the bank to manage, secure, and derive value from its data. This position involves creating scalable and reusable solutions for data gathering, storage, processing, and serving, applicable to both small and large data scales. The role encompasses working with various data platforms, including ETL, business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning, while ensuring compliance with the bank's risk policies and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to meet with business lines and gather requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional designs using critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with technical team members to communicate requirements effectively.
• Create clear Test Acceptance criteria and execute testing for accurate output during Unit and UAT.
• Develop and execute SQL scripts for ETL/data testing.
• Conduct research and development on current trends in banking, data engineering, and data security.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations.
• Support and troubleshoot data platforms, including escalated on-call support for critical incidents.
• Plan and work on internal projects, including legacy system replacements and analytics improvements.
• Guide and mentor team members.
• Manage and prioritize multiple assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience with SQL, DataStage (ETL), DBT, Snowflake, and Python.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with management, business, and IT sponsors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for data-related issues and solution design.
• Conceptual understanding of big data technologies, metadata management, commercial ETL tools, and data warehousing.
• Experience in SDLC and project management, with an understanding of release management protocols.
