About the position

The Business Analyst & Database Administrator position at PSEG is a critical role within the Innovation team, focusing on the design, development, and management of various applications and data sources that support PSEG Nuclear Innovation and Work Management. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity and governance of Work Management data, metrics, and reports, which are vital for operational efficiency and decision-making within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing applications and reports using the Microsoft Power Platform, as well as generating ad hoc reports and dashboards in Power BI to meet the needs of the fleet. In addition to application management, the role involves overseeing the integrity of the Work Management network, which includes managing the interface of data between the scheduling tool and various databases associated with the work management process. The Business Analyst & Database Administrator will serve as the lead data strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged across the fleet. This includes collaborating closely with data customers to develop data products that enhance operational capabilities. The position also requires the candidate to devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and ensure data uniformity and accuracy through rigorous cleaning and validation processes. This role is pivotal in supporting PSEG's commitment to innovation and efficiency in the nuclear power sector, contributing to the company's broader goals of sustainability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Management and governance for the Work Management data, metrics, and reports for PSEG Nuclear.
  • Design, development, and management of applications and reports in the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Create ad hoc reports and dashboards in Power BI and other applications to support fleet needs.
  • Ensure the integrity of the Work Management network, including management interface of data between the scheduling tool and various other databases associated with the work management process.
  • Serve as lead data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our fleet and work closely with data customers in the development of data products.
  • Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, or at least 6 years of experience in scheduling within the nuclear power industry in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  • Working knowledge of user interface development in VBA.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, business intelligence, and programming languages.
  • Working knowledge of SQL query development.
  • Must meet and maintain Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
