About the position

The Business Analyst, Economic Development at Lone Star College plays a vital role in connecting various stakeholders in the community, business, and economic development sectors. This position is responsible for analyzing complex demographic, statistical, and economic data to support internal and external projects. The analyst will create data visualizations, manage data analytics tools, and facilitate presentations related to economic development, ultimately informing business strategies and curriculum needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analysis of demographic, statistical, and economic data sets using advanced analytics tools.
• Design and build comprehensive, visually engaging, and interactive reports for stakeholders.
• Provide subject matter expertise for projects and act as the primary data resource for economic and demographic data.
• Analyze workforce trends and demographics, making recommendations for curriculum needs to leadership.
• Oversee acquisition and renewal of data licenses for analytics tools.
• Partner with teams to support economic and demographic data used in marketing materials and presentations.
• Manage expenditures of economic development funds from agreements with Harris County.
• Act as Project Manager for large-scale assignments, ensuring timely completion of projects.
• Present economic development data and conduct workshops for internal and external entities.
• Serve on various economic development councils and attend events to market the region.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
