About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT software/application projects. This position is hybrid, requiring in-person attendance three days a week at our Richmond, VA office. The contract duration is expected to be between 12 to 18 months, with immediate interviews available for qualified candidates. The Business Analyst will work closely with internal staff to optimize processes and enhance the quality of software systems. This role involves a deep understanding of operational systems and the ability to consult with both business and technical teams to develop comprehensive requirements for system improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating these requirements into technical specifications that can be utilized by technical teams for system modifications. This includes preparing diagrams that clearly explain the modifications, ensuring that both technical staff and executive management can visualize and understand the necessary actions. The Business Analyst will also propose alternative solutions that effectively balance cost and benefit, ensuring business and technical compatibility and performance throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, the Business Analyst will drive consistent project delivery, track and export project metrics, and ensure that the team adheres to Agile principles. A strong technical background in test planning, storyboard development, requirements elicitation, and wireframe preparation is essential for this role. The candidate must also have experience in test execution and a solid understanding of Scrum concepts and methodologies, as well as experience in organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs. This position requires a proactive approach to analyzing and documenting business and system processes, ensuring that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality for the design, development, and maintenance of Software Systems.
  • Learn and understand the operational systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT projects.
  • Experience in IT software/application projects is required.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodologies (8 years required).
  • Experience with Agile, Scaled Agile, and Kanban methodologies (8 years required).
  • Proven ability to organize and maintain sprint and product backlogs (8 years required).
  • Experience in translating client product strategy requirements into application requirements (8 years required).
  • Ability to analyze and document business and system processes (8 years required).
  • Technical experience in test planning, storyboard development, requirements elicitation, wireframe preparation, and test execution.
