About the position

The Business Analyst position focuses on analyzing financial data, particularly in the context of custody or back office operations. The role requires a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and the ability to work with various data types across asset classes, including derivatives. The analyst will be responsible for deriving platform requirements, performing gap analysis, and transforming data into useful formats for clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data related to trade lifecycle and various asset classes.
• Utilize SQL and Excel for back office data analysis.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify common components and define normalization strategies.
• Apply functional business knowledge to derive platform requirements.
• Transform data into data marts that are useful for clients.
• Perform gap analysis between source data and existing data models to identify necessary additions.
• Implement software or data services based on analysis findings.
• Communicate effectively to summarize findings and provide detailed information as needed.
• Collaborate with team members in a global setting.
• Adapt to changing role requirements and demonstrate flexibility.

Requirements

• Experience with financial data, particularly in custody or back office settings.
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to review and normalize various data sets.
• Ability to derive platform requirements based on business knowledge.
• Experience in transforming data into useful formats for clients.
• Previous experience in implementing software or data services.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with State Street Back Office operations.
• Familiarity with MCH, FDR, or OTC processes.
