About the position

The Business Analyst, Financial Planning role at Genpact involves overseeing the forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis processes while providing strategic insights to support decision-making. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to drive financial performance and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide FP&A finance support to the accounting teams related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics in a timely manner.
  • Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions.
  • Partner directly with the finance team and central FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
  • Analyze the trends of key performance indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as sales, expenses, and profit margin.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances.
  • Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts.
  • Assist in the development of the operating and financial plan required to achieve management's strategic plan.
  • Summarize results of analysis for monthly presentation to senior corporate, regional, and executive management.
  • Participate in the preparation of various analytical reports for distribution to executive management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly business update distributed to the Board and senior management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of FP&A analysts and senior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior management.
