About the position

As a Business Systems Analyst at FIS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our teams continue to deliver best-in-breed products that advance the way we pay, bank, and invest. This position requires you to act as the voice of the customer, gathering and analyzing data to identify potential business expansion opportunities and product improvement strategies. You will work within a scrum team, which necessitates being self-motivated, proactive, and an out-of-the-box thinker. The insurance industry is rapidly evolving, and FIS recognizes the importance of enhancing customer experience through digital strategies. As part of our team, you will be involved in managing complex business and data processes that are central to the efficient management of any insurance organization. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the software solutions we provide empower our clients to better understand their customers and meet their digital demands. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing data, influencing stakeholders to support business projects, assisting with project management, and coordinating with various internal groups to elaborate on new capabilities. You will also be tasked with testing business processes, writing clear business requirements, creating reports and dashboards, and collaborating with product managers on roadmap planning. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our insurance business solutions and requires a deep understanding of the insurance investments industry and end-to-end systems development life cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data for potential business expansion.
  • Identify new strategies and product improvement opportunities.
  • Influence stakeholders to support business projects.
  • Assist with project management for selected projects.
  • Assist in presentations to existing and prospective clients.
  • Coordinate with Product Strategy, Development, and other internal groups to elaborate on new capabilities.
  • Test business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Convert roadmap features into smaller user stories.
  • Write clear and well-structured business requirements and documentation.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to help others understand business performance.
  • Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform data discovery, analysis, and modeling.
  • Collaborate with product managers on roadmap planning.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the insurance investments industry and an understanding of end-to-end systems development life cycles.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or equivalent experience; a master's degree is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of investments accounting and insurance regulatory requirements for investments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements, and operational decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with insurance investments software.
  • Knowledge of FIS Investment Accounting Manager (formerly InvestOne) would be highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of US Insurance Regulatory requirements.
