About the position

The Business Analyst position within the Healthcare Data Intelligence (HDI) team at Ascension involves interpreting and managing clinical data from various sources to drive analytics and statistical reports. This role serves as a bridge between analytic and technical teams, ensuring that clinical data meets customer requirements and is appropriate for use in analytics. The analyst will identify trends in the data and make recommendations for quality improvement, contributing to the overall mission of transforming healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manages and interprets a wide variety of clinical or EHR based data.
• Uses clinical knowledge, background, or experience to guide analytic needs.
• Compiles clinical data to meet customer requirements or analytic needs.
• Works with members of technical teams to determine data availability, robustness, and fitness for release.
• Identifies trends within data and makes recommendations for quality improvement.

Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• 3 years of experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical field (Nursing) preferred.
• Healthcare experience including hospital, clinic, or public health.
• Data analysis experience.
• Proficiency (or familiarity) with SQL or other data manipulation language.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
