About the position

The Business Analyst role at COCC is designed for a motivated individual with 1-3 years of experience in data analytics or a similar field. This position focuses on collaborating with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, analyzing those requirements, and translating them into actionable reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a basic understanding of banking terms, and the ability to troubleshoot and conduct independent research. The role emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and the effective use of data to provide insights and support client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements
  • Analyze requirements and translate to report writing environment
  • Build reports and dashboards to meet business requirements
  • Perform data validation
  • Resolve technical issues related to report creation, data manipulation and report calculations
  • Identify opportunities to best leverage data to produce insightful information
  • Provide client support for report writing and related system requests
  • Develop and maintain application / data set knowledge
  • Create and maintain documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience and/or relevant certifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analytics or similar role
  • Technical aptitude and understanding of relational databases
  • Finance or banking experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience constructing database queries; SQL knowledge preferred
  • Ability to grasp complex issues and determine appropriate resolution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong business writing skills
