About the position

The Business Analyst position at 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219, is a hybrid role focused on supporting the fiscal, budgetary, and accounting operations for the AMD program. The contract duration extends until June 30, 2025. The role involves planning, organizing, developing, maintaining, and coordinating the implementation of fiscal operations, processes, policies, and procedures specifically for the MN program. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in the development of the annual agency's MN budget and will be responsible for reviewing statewide expenditure and spend plan data. In addition to budget development, the Business Analyst will perform monthly program and project expense analysis, assisting in the review and analysis of MN expenditures and budgets. This position requires a strong understanding of budgeting and accounting principles, as well as the ability to analyze complex business problems and recommend effective solutions. The analyst will also participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets to promote financial accountability, while identifying opportunities for performance improvement. Customer service is a key component of this role, as the Business Analyst will be expected to provide excellent support to both internal team members and external customers. Proficiency in analytical skills, particularly in Excel and MS Word, is essential, along with effective communication skills to present financial aspects of projects to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Support fiscal, budgetary, and accounting operations for AMD.
  • Plan, organize, develop, maintain, and coordinate fiscal operations, processes, policies, and procedures for the MN program.
  • Assist in the development of the annual agency's MN budget and review statewide expenditure and spend plan data.
  • Perform monthly program/project expense analysis and assist with the review and analysis of MN expenditures and budgets.
  • Support executive decision-making and present financial aspects of projects to senior management.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets to promote financial accountability.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Provide good customer service to internal team members and external customers.

Requirements
