About the position

The Business Analyst - Integration role is a full-time contract position focused on documenting existing systems and business processes, gathering functional requirements, and coordinating testing efforts within the Judiciary Information System (JIS). The position requires collaboration with technical leads, project managers, and judiciary personnel to ensure successful project execution and adherence to project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting existing systems and/or business processes.
  • Interviewing users to determine functional requirements for new development and enhancement projects.
  • Working with Judiciary personnel to develop test plans and coordinate testing efforts.
  • Collaborating with technical leads and developers to understand, develop, and refine project technical requirements.
  • Assisting in the development and refinement of systems development methodology processes and artifacts.
  • Tracking and reporting project status in support of project and Project Management Office efforts.
  • Providing input to and support for the development of Project Definition documents.
  • Performing data analysis in support of projects and developing database inquiries as needed.
  • Coordinating business analysis, project requirements, test planning, tracking, and problem reporting throughout projects.
  • Assisting JIS project managers and IT/Court managers with requirements gathering and test planning activities.
  • Conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions and coordinating business unit review and approval of project functional requirements and test plans.
  • Weekly time reporting focused on total time and segments of time allocated to tasks or projects.
  • Acting as liaison with justice partners to provide accurate data exchanges and changes required by legislation or business mandates.

Requirements

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Master's degree in information systems.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in Information Technology (IT).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with court or a legal background.
  • Experience with UML and other tools for capturing and documenting user and functional requirements.
  • Experience with NIEM / JIEM data modeling.
  • Experience with requirements capture and tracking software.
  • Experience with XML and SOAP protocol software.
  • Experience discussing, analyzing, and documenting high-level business requirements related to internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, web services, and APIs.
  • Familiarity with the Odyssey Case Management System.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish working relationships with peers, end users, and management.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse IT organization.
  • Knowledge of systems development life cycle principles and methodologies.
  • Database knowledge - logical, relational.
