About the position

As a Business Analyst Intern at McKinsey & Company, you will have the opportunity to work in one of our global offices for a duration of 10 weeks, typically during the summer. This internship is designed for undergraduate students in their junior year or graduate students who are looking to gain first-hand experience in consulting. You will collaborate with teams of 3 to 5 consultants to tackle significant challenges faced by our clients across various sectors, including private, public, and social sectors. Your role will involve identifying and implementing potential solutions to client problems, ultimately helping them achieve lasting improvements in their performance. Throughout your internship, you will engage in a variety of tasks that include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing actionable recommendations. You will also have the opportunity to present your findings to client management and work alongside client team members to implement these recommendations. Specific activities may involve interviewing clients, leading client teams, building financial models, and collaborating with McKinsey subject matter experts to derive insights tailored to client needs. Responsibilities

  • Work in teams of 3 to 5 consultants to identify and implement solutions for client challenges.
  • Gather and analyze information to formulate and test hypotheses.
  • Develop and communicate actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Present results to client management and collaborate with client team members to implement recommendations.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and lead client teams to drive project success.
  • Build financial models and work with McKinsey subject experts to develop insights for clients.

Requirements

  • Currently in your junior year of an undergraduate degree with expected graduation between December 2025 - August 2026.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Capability to drive an independent workstream within a broader team project.
  • Comfort with ambiguous and ever-changing situations.
  • Strong quantitative thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and local office languages.
