About the position

United's Digital Technology team is at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining technology solutions that scale massively, utilizing innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions. The Business Technical Analyst will be an integral part of the Corporate Safety Application IT team, focusing on supporting and enhancing the systems utilized by customer care agents. This role is pivotal in identifying opportunities to improve the experiences and productivity of customer care agents through effective application development support. The Analyst will collaborate closely with application teams and business owners to drive initiatives, manage application improvements, and oversee application releases. This involves eliciting high-level requirements and capturing business needs through dialogue with business partners, ensuring that all business requirements are clearly articulated and documented. The Analyst will translate these business requirements into functional requirements using a structured process that includes gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing change. In addition, the Analyst will lead the analysis of requirements to assess the systems' potential and define the impact on other business units and systems, providing valuable input to the development effort. Maintaining project requirements according to the requirements management plan is essential, as is partnering with the business to identify appropriate data sources and analysis methodologies to meet business needs. The Analyst will also support application and solution delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs, ensuring that requirements are communicated effectively and proposed solutions are validated. The role includes reviewing product design documentation to confirm that requirements are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable, as well as assisting in generating use cases and user stories to capture all functional requirements. The Analyst will perform impact analysis and support application testing, implementation, and training activities throughout the process, working with outside vendors to deliver solutions. Identifying potential roadblocks on projects and proactively communicating with project teams is also a key responsibility, along with gathering, structuring, and analyzing data from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with focus on Computer Science or a related area.
  • 3-5+ years experience as a business analyst.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with multiple levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to aggregate data and produce reports representing status and results.
  • Ability to prioritize, deal with ambiguity, and deliver measurable results in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
