About the position

The Business Analyst IV position at Fairfax County Government is responsible for architecting business processes around complex technical systems and managing multiple interdepartmental systems that impact various county agencies and users. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of systems such as the Case Management System and the Court Automated Recording System, ensuring alignment with business strategies, compliance with regulations, and effective communication among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the architect of business processes around complex technical systems.
  • Manage multiple complex interdepartmental systems across various platforms.
  • Assist in managing and administering the website of the Circuit Court and Historic Records Center.
  • Direct the alignment of technology solutions with Circuit Court and Fairfax County business strategies.
  • Provide input on Circuit Court IT strategy and tools to meet future IT business needs.
  • Leverage IT methods to improve business processes and assess the impact of automation.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations while coordinating with various parties.
  • Work with staff and vendors on all stages of the systems development life cycle for Circuit Court applications.
  • Coordinate and/or manage IT staff on internal Circuit Court development.
  • Serve as backup to the IT manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, business administration, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in information systems and process redesign.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of business process reengineering methods and tools.
  • Considerable knowledge of interdepartmental processes and IT capabilities.

  • Ability to perform independently and think analytically.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong planning skills.
