About the position

As a Business Analyst in Manufacturing & Supply Chain at McKinsey & Company, you will be an integral part of our Operations practice, which focuses on solving complex operational challenges for our clients. You will be based in one of our North America offices and will engage in strategy projects that require a deep understanding of supply chain concepts. Your role will involve collaborating with clients to define new organizational structures, roles, and processes across global organizations. This will necessitate gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing actionable recommendations for presentation to client management. In this position, you will spend a significant amount of time addressing complex client problems, contributing hands-on to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches. You will develop tailor-made solutions and work closely with clients to ensure that the results are positive and sustainable. The collaborative culture at McKinsey allows you to work directly with clients while also sharing your expertise and insights with colleagues globally, thereby enhancing our collective knowledge and refining our approaches in the manufacturing and supply chain field. Your work will not only focus on operational improvements but also on managing key transformation factors such as performance management systems and influencing mindsets and behaviors within organizations. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to make a meaningful impact and are comfortable with extensive travel, as you may be required to travel up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to define new organizational structures, roles, and processes across global organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a related role.
  • Understanding and exposure to supply chain concepts, including network design, sales and operations planning (S&OP), inventory, or physical flow management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading operational improvements.
  • Aptitude for analytics and problem-solving.
  • Proven leadership experience in a work setting or through extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively.
