About the position

We are seeking a Mid-Level Business Analyst with a strong background in Microsoft Power BI and SQL database development. This role focuses on driving process improvements by converting legacy database environments into advanced solutions, while also addressing customer inquiries related to reporting and automation needs within the Product Development division.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to provide insights into key business metrics.
• Analyze complex data sets using SQL to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Transition database solution from an Access-based environment to a SQL-based data mart, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
• Design, develop and maintain databases to support various reporting and analytical needs.
• Continuously improve existing databases to adapt to evolving business needs.
• Manage ad-hoc inquiries related to reporting, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Create comprehensive documentation of data processes, methodologies, and reports.
• Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of canned and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for reporting and analytics solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive performance and efficiency.
• Provide training and support to team members on Power BI and data analysis best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in data collection, reporting, and analysis.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis or a related role, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and SQL is essential; experience with other BI tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization best practices and techniques.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Master's degree is a plus.
