About the position
The position involves supporting inventory strategies, analysis, and reporting efforts related to new store development, relocations, and remodels at DICK'S Sporting Goods. The role focuses on optimizing inventory investments and operational efficiencies while collaborating with various teams to ensure effective product management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support inventory strategies and analysis for new store/concept development and relocations/remodels.
- Work with Merchandising and Allocation teams to drive appropriate product breadth and depth into impacted locations.
- Develop inventory guidelines and strategies for new business developments in support of the PAR organization.
- Collaborate with Regional Merchandising, Field Leadership, New Store Operations, and other support teams.
- Maintain standardized reports to facilitate information flow between Merchandising and Allocations teams and cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives aimed at optimizing inventory investments and operational efficiencies.
- Analyze and diagnose under and over-inventoried stores.
- Provide analysis on store and category level opportunities for inventory optimization.
- Evaluate clearance, aging, and slow selling products by category and develop business rules for performance improvements.
- Provide ad hoc analytical support on cross-functional projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7 years experience in Retail, Merchandising, Merch Planning/Allocations, or Real Estate Market Research.
