About the position

The Business Analyst/Software Tester (508 Accessibility) role at Soft Tech Consulting involves auditing software modules for accessibility compliance, specifically adhering to Section 508 standards. The position requires effective communication and collaboration within a team to ensure project deliverables are met while advocating for accessibility in design sessions. This hybrid role is based in Washington, DC, requiring on-site presence three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Audit a suite of 36 modules for accessibility compliance.
• Document concerns as stories in JIRA during the auditing process.
• Attend design sessions as the accessibility advocate.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and perform 508 testing of 10+ applications.
• Create test cases and user stories based on Section 508 requirements and business requirements.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand the full scope and impact of each story and ensure functionality is accessible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years applicable experience or Associate's Degree with 3 years applicable experience.
• Experience in 508 compliance testing or as a Business Analyst.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Good organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified DHS Trusted Tester (Preferred)
• Experience with JIRA/CONFLUENCE (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of the SAFe methodology (Agile/Jira) (Preferred)
• Experience with Pega (Preferred)
