About the position

The Remote Business Analyst / Software Tester will play a crucial role in supporting software development by gathering requirements, reviewing business requirements, and creating and executing test cases. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure quality assurance processes are followed and that testing is conducted effectively under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and develop Test Cases and Test Plans.
  • Review business requirements, create and execute test cases, and create User Acceptance Tests (UAT) to reduce error rates.
  • Track defects from discovery to resolution and document test case completion and failures.
  • Partner with the UAT team to organize and manage multiple priorities, ensuring successful production and testing.
  • Prepare Requirements Traceability metrics and peer review test results with the team.
  • Collaborate with System Analysts and Software Developers to compile and write test plans and test cases for various projects and system releases.
  • Estimate and plan testing activities in collaboration with the project team, detailing the testing approach and scope based on risk.
  • Execute test plans and test cases and record results.
  • Continuously learn system functionality and use cases from both IT and business perspectives.
  • Produce tracking reports for project defect and testing status.
  • Practice and enforce Quality Assurance processes within the established framework.
  • Proactively seek additional knowledge to ensure test cases reflect expected documented requirements.
  • Willingness to cross-train across multiple systems.

Requirements

  • 4 years working as a member of a software testing team, preferably with Team Lead experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites including Word, Excel, Visio, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experienced in business analysis and testing for large scale IT systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated testing or any programming language.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager and TFS/Azure DevOps.
  • Preferred experience in Medicaid or health care.
  • Experience with mobile testing.
