The Business Analyst, Supply Chain Operations at the University of Rochester plays a crucial role in collaborating with various stakeholders, including team leads, application build teams, and business, financial, operational, and clinical representatives. This position is responsible for supporting assigned projects by developing comprehensive requirements and design documentation, as well as use cases based on user input. The analyst will design future state workflows and business processes, conduct process analysis, and assist in creating effective testing strategies to ensure project success. In this role, the Business Analyst will document both current and future state processes, conducting gap analyses to identify areas for improvement. They will engage with user communities to gather and document business requirements, evaluate complex business processes to pinpoint needs, problems, and opportunities, and develop strategies to maximize value delivery. The analyst will work closely with business leaders and users to understand how data-driven changes can enhance efficiencies and add value to the organization. The position also involves writing business cases for potential future projects, leading estimation efforts, and providing input for planning future work in collaboration with the Project Management Office. The Business Analyst will deliver assigned tasks in alignment with project plans and estimates, participate in project communications and meetings to promote project goals, and may lead design reviews and code/configuration walkthroughs with technical, functional, and vendor teams. Additionally, they will identify and recommend improvement opportunities, share knowledge, and provide cross-training and peer support to enhance team performance. The analyst will maintain a broad knowledge of the University’s roles, processes, tools, and architecture to better understand how the team collaborates to meet user needs. They will also stay informed about industry standards, best practices, regulations, and related technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant. The role may involve leading smaller projects or enhancements, preparing test plans, test scenarios, and test data in collaboration with functional and technical testers to validate business processes effectively.
