About the position

The Business Analyst / Technical Writer with SharePoint Experience position is a critical role that involves creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for SharePoint environments. This includes user manuals, system guides, and best practices that are essential for ensuring that users can effectively utilize SharePoint's capabilities. The role requires a strong focus on SharePoint administration, where the individual will be responsible for managing SharePoint sites, libraries, and workflows to meet the organizational needs. In this position, collaboration is key. The successful candidate will work closely with IT teams and end-users to gather necessary information and translate complex technical details into clear and concise documentation. This ensures that all documentation remains up-to-date, consistent, and aligned with the company's standards. Additionally, the role involves providing training and support to users on various SharePoint features and functionalities, enhancing their understanding and usage of the platform. Moreover, the individual will assist in the development and implementation of SharePoint governance policies and procedures, which are vital for maintaining the integrity and security of the SharePoint environment. This position is 100% onsite in Richmond, TX, and requires the consultant to be present from Day 1.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides, and best practices for SharePoint environments.
  • Administer and manage SharePoint sites, libraries, and workflows to support organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and end-users to gather information and translate technical details into clear, concise documentation.
  • Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, consistent, and aligned with company standards.
  • Provide training and support to users on SharePoint features and functionalities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of SharePoint governance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on IT or software documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint administration, including site management, permissions, and workflows.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online, Office 365, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
