About the position
The Business Analyst role focuses on supporting a team of application developers by leveraging SQL and data management skills. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring effective communication between technical and non-technical audiences. The analyst will also be responsible for validating data, conducting complex analyses, and assisting in project coordination to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Work with all stakeholders including business customers, vendors, and internal resources to facilitate team communication and achieve the mission.
- Gather, analyze, define, and document requirements and communicate them to the technical & non-technical audience.
- Transform information from elicitation sessions into business requirements and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and software requirements specifications documents.
- Analyze and decompose problem statements, distilling these into clearly defined requirements.
- Validate data and test applications for business requirements, functionality, and usability.
- Carry out complex analysis of datasets and conduct appropriate data validation.
- Gather and validate datasets across multiple data sources.
- Provide information on analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualizations to communicate data and metrics.
- Assist with user acceptance testing.
- Work on multiple projects in parallel and coordinate with developers and business users to analyze system characteristics.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring activities. Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely completion and adherence to project scope.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
- College degree in engineering, computer technology, or work experience in a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software/application development lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of ANSI SQL.
