About the position

The Senior Business Analyst specializing in APEX Application Development will play a crucial role in defining, supporting, and implementing Oracle APEX applications for data-driven initiatives at DTA. This position involves close collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring that solutions align with the organization's data strategy and support effective decision-making processes. The role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical knowledge in APEX environments, and strong communication abilities to bridge the gap between business and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for Oracle APEX applications.
  • Analyze and prioritize requests to align with DTA's objectives and overall data strategy.
  • Convert business needs into detailed technical specifications, workflows, and data flows for APEX applications.
  • Collaborate with Oracle APEX Developers to ensure accurate and efficient application development.
  • Participate in solution design sessions, providing input on data models and user interfaces.
  • Assist in configuring and optimizing APEX applications to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Define data flows and integrate data from DTA's data warehouse and external sources.
  • Support the design and development of reporting functionalities within APEX applications.
  • Develop and execute test cases for new and existing APEX applications.
  • Document test results and collaborate with QA analysts and developers to resolve issues.
  • Develop comprehensive system documentation, including application design and user guides.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to users, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on Oracle APEX advancements and recommend improvements in application functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis with a focus on Oracle APEX application development.
  • Strong knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts, reporting, and data visualization.
  • Experience in translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with Oracle APEX, SQL, and Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with TOAD or other database development tools.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos) and data integration solutions (e.g., Informatica, Snowflake).
  • Experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools, specifically Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data protection.
