About the position

The Business Analyst position at Veolia North America involves working closely with the Portfolio Manager to analyze corporate functions and identify opportunities for improvement. The role focuses on transforming business needs into effective solutions through data analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategies to enhance business performance and will lead small Scrum Agile projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio manager for the Corporate domain and direct reports for the CORP domain CIO to analyze corporate functions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's goals, values, and objectives to inform strategy development.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address business challenges and opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and recommend ongoing improvements.
  • Understand the business context and objectives of projects.
  • Perform analysis related to the implementation of new or revised business processes and software.
  • Gather and document functional business requirements for non-custom development projects.
  • Prepare workshops with stakeholders in collaboration with team members.
  • Analyze gaps between current and proposed solutions.
  • Support efforts to simplify the integration of multiple systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with software architects, UX designers, and development teams.
  • Produce quality deliverables such as scope of work, business requirement documents, and training plans.
  • Follow-up on the requirements lifecycle with traceability from business requirements to testing.
  • Assist project teams during implementation and deployment phases of solutions.
  • Provide hypercare assistance post-delivery.
  • Lead small Scrum Agile projects and adopt project management governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an Application Analyst or Business Analyst (IT).
  • Preferable experience with ERP systems (SAP).
  • Preferable experience in Agile projects.
  • Experience in BI (reporting).
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
