About the position

The position involves managing the relationship between business units and the Management Information Systems Department (MISD) to ensure business objectives are met. The role requires defining requirements for both short- and long-term solutions, validating changes in business processes, and ensuring quality training is completed. The candidate will also conduct research on incidents and implement solutions, working in a hybrid model with three days in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit business requirements and create a business requirements document.
  • Document changes, updates, and exceptions throughout the project life cycle.
  • Work under the supervision of a Senior Business Analyst to learn new areas of focus.
  • Create workflows, swim lanes, mock screens, and other visual aids for project solutions.
  • Collaborate with development and subject matter experts to establish project vision and analyze tradeoffs.
  • Create Microsoft project plans, tasks, and assign them to project team members.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analysis and ROI research for submitted projects.
  • Obtain approval of the business requirements document within project timelines.
  • Provide weekly status reports on project milestones and timelines.
  • Approve test cases created by Quality Assurance to validate requirements.
  • Close process-related incidents reported to the help desk.
  • Create ad-hoc or snapshot reports to aid the business in defining long-term solutions.
  • Develop and maintain training materials for business users.
  • Facilitate meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Project Management certification or working towards certification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in retail, procurement, warehouse operations, transportation, or financial systems.
  • 4-5 years of broad-based experience in related business disciplines.
  • Strong analysis, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and customer service commitment.
  • Ability to work under stress and discern priorities.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to provide after-hours support.
  • Willingness to travel to divisions for support.
