About the position

The Business Analyst position at a supply chain and logistics tech firm in Atlanta, GA, involves acting as a bridge between clients and the development team. The role focuses on ensuring that the company's software solutions meet client needs and industry standards. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand transportation management needs and objectives.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather detailed business requirements.
  • Analyze current business processes and workflows related to transportation and logistics.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and maintain user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with the development team to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Assist in designing solutions that align with client needs and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, development teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to develop test plans and ensure features meet acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Logistics or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment.
  • Industry experience in transportation (Truck, Rail and Ocean), logistics, or supply chain industry.
  • Understanding of transportation management processes and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) and frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • API experience is a plus.
