About the position

The Business Analyst at Empire Merchants is responsible for analyzing various data sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations to management. This role involves sales forecasting, opportunity identification, and program performance evaluation, along with the development of sales templates and report formatting as needed. The analyst will work closely with management to provide insights that drive business decisions and improve sales performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares materials for supplier planning meetings by aggregating and reviewing internal sales data and trends.
• Evaluates the potential impact of pricing modifications by reviewing sales data and forecasting sales.
• Uncovers market and brand opportunities by understanding category and customer dynamics.
• Measures risk to sales plans by conducting gap analysis and reporting potential shortfalls to management.
• Develops sales templates and collaborates with management to identify business needs.
• Packages data for sales materials by converting data into concise facts and visuals for presentations.
• Uncovers drivers for changes in sales performance by reviewing competitive and internal data.
• Measures ROI on selected programming by determining evaluation criteria with management.
• Develops business review content by analyzing sales performance and incorporating data into templates.
• Completes all necessary training programs as defined by management.
• Maintains customer and supplier confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Financial, marketing, or business analysis experience; experience with consumer packaged goods or data providers is a plus.
• Highly fluent in Excel and relational database programs; strong knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diplomacy and discretion.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently or within a team, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with IRI or Nielsen data providers is a plus.
• Ability to hold a Solicitor's Permit where required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle preferred.
