About the position

The Business Analyst position involves assisting in defining project scope, planning, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with established timelines. The role requires developing and maintaining policies and procedures, engaging stakeholders, analyzing business processes, and monitoring system implementation to meet program needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with defining the project scope, project plan, and deliverables in accordance with established timelines.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures affecting major aspects of assigned activities/functions.
• Write technical requirements for grants and requests for proposals, and prepare documentation for system manuals and guides.
• Engage various stakeholders in planning, discovery, and determining business processes and system development.
• Analyze business processes, develop/map, and maintain documentation of business processes for IT solutions.
• Monitor and participate in system implementation through the project life cycle for successful implementation.
• Conduct workflow analysis, requirements gathering, documenting, and tracking decisions.
• Manage deliverables, develop test scenarios, and participate in data migration, testing, and training.
• Monitor financial aspects of system development, participate in budgeting, and prepare budget requests.
• Track and record expenditures, and track project progress and costs.
• Monitor contracts and contracted vendors, tracking deliverables and communicating status to Division leadership.
• Educate and communicate the agency mission to achieve goals and objectives through effective communication tools.
• Comply with all state and federal IT security standards and report any violations or breaches.

Requirements

• Experience in project management and business analysis.
• Strong understanding of IT security standards (HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in developing technical requirements and documentation.
• Experience in financial monitoring and budgeting for projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools for job description enhancement.
• Experience in system implementation and testing.
