About the position
The Business Analytics Advisor role at The Cigna Group focuses on evaluating cost and quality of care opportunities for a prominent health system in the Southeast. This position requires the candidate to analyze data, create reports, and communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders, including health system executives. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, technical expertise in SQL, and effective interpersonal communication, particularly in presenting complex data insights to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with matrix partners to identify and describe business requests, clearly defining the desired data, information, and metrics necessary for investigation.
- Present results and analysis in an understandable fashion to key business stakeholders, fielding questions and providing appropriate responses.
- Utilize various DBMS applications to query, extract, and manipulate healthcare data to create adhoc comparative and performance summary reports.
- Act as a liaison between Cigna Client Reporting Business and Cigna Account Executive for client-based reporting requests.
Requirements
- 5+ years of SQL coding experience.
- 2+ years of SQL experience in a SAS environment or with SAS EG.
- Advanced Excel experience required, including pivot tables, vlookup, and arrays.
- Healthcare Managed Care or Accountable Care Organization (ACO) experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of PPO and managed care environments, including product offerings and healthcare provider value-based reimbursement programs.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience connecting to and working with various data repositories.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for presentations and discussions with senior management.
