About the position

The position involves providing guidance to program managers regarding financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure that accurate, compliant, and useful financial reports are produced. The role requires initiating, monitoring, and maintaining proper project setup in Unanet, a project management software. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for conducting analyses for forward-looking financials and business-related projects, preparing forecasts, and analyzing trends in manufacturing, sales, and other related areas. A key responsibility is to identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management. The role also includes conducting budgeting and financial analysis tasks, which encompass developing project cost and schedule baselines and budgets, monitoring project actuals, and resolving any issues that arise. The individual will monitor outstanding project commitments, such as travel and subcontracts, and develop monthly project financial forecasts and estimates at completion (EACs), conducting variance analysis as necessary. The position requires analyzing project reports to identify and resolve issues, documenting and supporting monthly program reviews, and calculating earned value and analysis for projects. Furthermore, the role includes performing contracts and pricing tasks, which involve reviewing and analyzing contracts, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure that projects meet financial and reporting requirements. The individual will also provide assistance with pricing and historical data collection, along with other duties as assigned. It is important to note that this position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to program managers in financial reporting objectives and standards.
  • Initiate, monitor and maintain proper project setup in Unanet.
  • Provide analysis for forward-looking financials and business-related projects.
  • Prepare forecasts and analysis of trends in manufacturing, sales, and other related areas.
  • Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management.
  • Conduct budgeting and financial analysis tasks, including developing project cost/schedule baselines and budgets.
  • Monitor project actuals and resolve issues.
  • Monitor outstanding project commitments (e.g., travel, subcontracts).
  • Develop monthly project financial forecasts/EACs and conduct variance analysis.
  • Monitor project burn rate against funding remaining.
  • Analyze project reports to identify and resolve issues.
  • Document and support monthly program reviews.
  • Calculate earned value and analysis for projects.
  • Review and analyze contracts, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure project meets financial and reporting requirements.
  • Provide assistance with pricing and historical data collection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in management or other relevant discipline required.
  • Desired government contracting experience.
  • Desired cost and financial analysis experience.
  • Desired experience with SQL or other relational databases.
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Creative in the ability to process improve and automate.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience with ERP systems.
  • Hands-on experience assembling analytical tools for operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management desired.
  • Experience with Unanet desired.
  • Knowledge in Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint preferred.
