About the position

The Business and Operations Manager at Summit Christian School is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment aligned with the school's core values. This full-time position involves managing non-instructional systems, fiscal responsibilities, compliance, human resources, and facilities management, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration among staff and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of School and leadership team in developing and maintaining a positive school/community climate.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with the leadership team to make wise decisions for the school family.
  • Identify and nurture future leaders within the team.
  • Ensure effective communication across relationships within the school community.
  • Develop and implement school-wide non-instructional systems and procedures for operational excellence.
  • Oversee day-to-day non-academic operations, including facility management and logistics.
  • Work with the Head of School to develop the annual budget and manage finances.
  • Ensure compliance with all contracts and maintain necessary records for efficient operation.
  • Assist with creating new employee contracts and maintain employee files.
  • Manage procurement processes to ensure necessary supplies are available.
  • Maintain a friendly atmosphere for all visitors and manage student records accurately.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for students and staff, including emergency response plans.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding school operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in school operations and administration.
  • Strong understanding of Christian values and ability to integrate them into operations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, project management, and technology utilization.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations in the private education sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
