About the position

The Business and Systems Analyst at the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. This role involves analyzing requirements, designing systems, and ensuring successful implementation and support, particularly focusing on enhancing member experience and driving membership growth through data analysis and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Society's systems, including the Association Management System (AMS).
  • Serve as a Database Administrator (DBA) for the AMS and other systems.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to select system solutions that support overall business strategies.
  • Function as a liaison between IT and end-users; understand and communicate with both business and technical expertise.
  • Liaise between ASLA staff and third-party vendors.
  • Define and execute implementation plans, ensuring implementations are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide training and end-user support during and after the implementation process.
  • Assist business teams in understanding and utilizing data.
  • Use software and scripting to generate metrics and reports and synthesize them into actionable recommendations.
  • Use statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.
  • Support business continuity planning process and readiness testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in database management and system architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, and modeling.
  • Effective communication and project management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with membership associations is preferred, but not required.
